Moving and motion was—and is—a respite for me.

After a day inside an advertising agency running a new product rollout, running webinars for Fidelity Investments, or convincing lawyers to trust me, going to a Jazzercise class, doing step aerobics, playing tennis, running the hills in Hyde Park, or sweating through hot yoga — that was where I found my happy place. But then, just before I turned 60, I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Pilates and Pilates Reformer became my personal therapy, and helped mitigate the advancement of the stenosis. I was first a skeptical advocate, then a believer, and now a certified Pilates instructor.

My teaching is based in the Pilates philosophy of a strong core and a flexible spine. My teaching method is “Stretch, Strength & Balance.”

Sharing my training and hard‐earned body wisdom

I share my training and hard‐earned body wisdom with class participants, and give them the freedom to work within their capacity. Even with new hips, knees, or arthritis, I encourage them to get stronger than they ever had.

Also, I’ve come to appreciate the need for seniors in Independent Living communities to keep moving, even if it’s from a chair. They are proud when they do a move they swore was impossible before class — and I am proud of them.

Through my teaching I've developed relationships with women and men at local Pilates studios and at Mercy Healthplex. Watching them re‐commit to o a healthy lifestyle through a program of stretch, strength and balance, brings me a great sense of joy and gratitude for a life that has moved through many experiences to this current place.

Online / Virtual Teaching

Every class member has access to online/virtual classes should the need arise. During the latest quarantine, classes were held via Facebook Live and FaceTime in real time. Each class was then uploaded to my YouTube channel for 24‐hour access.
